All of our treatment is designed to be comfortable, to be long lasting, and to exceed patient care expectations. We use the latest technology and techniques our profession has to offer. Our greatest strength lies in the unequaled advanced training in implant, cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry we have received. Dr. Gendler is Diplomate of American Board of Oral Implantology. This status symbolizes highest degree of competency in implant dentistry.
You will notice this level of excellence in all of our dental care experts and in our friendly and attentive staff when coming to Gendler Dental Center for your routine dental cleaning and maintenance. Beginning with the expert care and comfort consideration while cleaning your teeth and gums, our hygienists will review your medical history, perform an oral cancer screening, gum tissue probing, look for signs of gum/periodontal disease, remove plaque and tartar buildup, polish your teeth, and do a full examination of your dental health.
One of our experienced and thorough hygienists will use a combination of hand instruments and state-of-the-art ultrasonic cleaners to remove the plaque and hardened tartar from the surface of your teeth.
When tartar builds up, it may begin to irritate your gums and even the bone, causing inflammation. This can also increase gingivitis and bad breathe (halitosis.) When inflammation in your gums is persistent, your bone will begin to recede away from the area leaving your teeth increasingly less stable. If left untreated, this inflammation of the gums (periodontal disease) will cause significant bone loss and tooth loss. Advanced periodontitis can even let bacteria into the bloodstream and cause disease in your heart and other tissues. Additionally, after the plaque is removed, your hygienist will polish your teeth to remove surface stains so they look whiter and brighter.
Reasons for a professional dental cleaning:
- Remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Reduce inflammation of the gums
- Minimize gingivitis and prevent bad breath (halitosis)
- Whiten and enhance your smile
- Help you keep your natural teeth and maintain overall health
